Bachelor of Arts in Applied General Studies
The NYU School of Professional Studies Paul McGhee Division attracts many students who possess substantial work and life experience that significantly informs their choice of academic study. The Bachelor of Arts in Applied General Studies addresses the demand for an interdisciplinary major that allows such students to design their own course of study, and combine courses across disciplinary boundaries, thus helping them to better address academic and intellectual aspirations as well as career goals. The curriculum is drawn from McGhee's Bachelor of Arts degree programs and its professionally oriented Bachelor of Science degrees, as well as from undergraduate-level courses in other divisions of the NYU School of Professional Studies. In developing a plan of study, students work with their McGhee advisor and an assigned faculty mentor, to develop a truly customized educational experience.
